It’s almost spring convention time…which is always a fun time, and a little stressful because I gotta check all my checklists and make sure everything is in order and ready to go. Part of the fun is getting everything out and seeing what needs updated and upgraded.
Every year at these things, I end up with tons of pictures and videos on my phone…but very few are of very good quality mostly because it’s such a hassle to use your phone as a phone and also a video recorder with sound and like and all the things…so they just get deleted. I’ve tried lots of different things but nothing seems to work well enough to actually get shared.
This year, I’m thinking about getting a little vlogging camera – but the price point on the ‘good’ one just seems like a little more than I’d like to spend. So, I started looking for alternatives – which means I was bombarded with ads for knockoffs and ‘junk from China’. Going down the rabbit hole, I found an option that seemed a little too good to be true – so I figured it was and looked into how scammy the site really was {come to find out, very}.
My googling and chat gpt-ing came up with some very interesting info about it all – which of course, made me question what others think about Sharing Solace – especially if they were just to stumble upon it while going down the rabbit hole…like I did. So, I asked the same questions about SharingSolace.com that I did about the scammy e-commerce site (in an incognito window in hopes it would give me more unbiased info).
I gotta say, AI makes me feel pretty darn good about myself. The first thing it spit back to me when I asked ‘Is SharingSolace.com a scam?’ is this:

Honestly, I feel like it hit the nail on the head – I felt validated, and also very exposed. {And that surprised me!} There’s always this little voice in the back of my head saying ‘You suck – nobody gets it. You’re just another ‘thing’ out there.’
I mean, if a robot can get the gist of what we’re doing, why were doing it, and why it’s important then I hope a human could too. If I robot can see we’re not just some ambulance-chasing, flash in the pan then I hope a human grasps that sentiment too.
I even found it encouraging that {in not so many words} the computers got that our pieces are not ‘really’ what we’re about…they’re just happen to be the vessel our mission manifested itself…
I spend so much of my time bringing awareness to and educating on the intricacies of grief {and how Sharing Solace is really the only one out there that pulls it all together in a meaningful way} that sometimes it becomes clinical and sterile. Sometimes, I have to pull myself out of the weeds to see the bigger picture: what we’re REALLY trying to do and how is ACTUALLY impacts those grieving.
