Sometimes saying nothing, and just being there is the best ‘medicine’. ‘I’m sorry’ is always good too. I found that filling the silence just to fill the silence with words normally makes things worse because you end up saying something you probably shouldn’t have.
Maybe invite her out to a movie. I found that’s a great activity when you’re sad…because you don’t have to actually ‘adult’ but you’re out of the house 😉

My sister’s cat (16 years old) just passed away. I bought her some “Forget Me Not” seeds to plant and got her a card. I think she appreciated the gesture and having something to remember your pet by is so nice.
